About the Presenter:

Executive Chef Chris Andraza of Lift Bar and Grill has spent the past 20 years following a passion for the culinary world. Born in southern Ontario, he moved to the west coast thinking he would only spend a couple years honing his skills here. After moving to Vancouver, he took on the Executive chef position at Rodney’s Oyster House where he found his new passion for oysters. A few years later he was approached by Fanny Bay Oysters and was asked to be part of the opening of their oyster bar in the stadium district. Since Fanny Bay, Chris has been spending his days at Lift Bar and Grill developing new menu items and reaching back in the history books rejuvenating eclectic seafood dishes.

About the Presenter:

Chef Lisa Ahier is the chef and owner of SoBo, and the author of the award winning The SoBo Cookbook. After working in numerous restaurants from the age of 13, she landed on the doorsteps of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York at the age of 34.The SoBo Cookbook was originally launched in 2014 and includes all of the crowd favourites from SoBo restaurant, including her wild smoked salmon chowder, cornbread, polenta fries, rice pockets and key lime pie (to name a few!). Chef Lisa and her team have also recently released a new cookbook, called “Together at Sobo”! Chef Lisa has recently launched her Wild Salmon Chowder for the retail market in specialty seafood shops in Vancouver and Vancouver Island.

Chef Cullin David may have grown up in Vancouver, but his diverse palate and knack for handcrafting authentic island-inspired cuisine speak directly to his Caribbean background. Professionally trained in France where he grew up, Chef Johann Caner has more than a decade of experience in the restaurant industry. Over the course of his career, he has led both front-of-house and kitchen teams at prestigious restaurants across Europe. Chef Caner earned his hospitality credentials at the Lycée Professionnel Notre-Dame culinary college. He then spent the first half of his career learning the art of fine dining in restaurants across Europe where he held positions such as head waiter, sommelier clerk, head chef, and restaurant director. Chef Harris Sakalis, born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at the School of Tourism Education in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. He received hands-on skills at hotels, restaurants and bars in Greece before traveling internationally to New York City. He worked his way through top restaurants in Manhattan including the Michelin-starred Café Boulud as Chef de Partie. He gained exceptional skills working alongside industry leaders before he moved to the Middle East, joining Rosewood Hotels in Abu Dhabi. He joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Bermuda at Fairmont Southampton as Executive Sous Chef before being promoted to the Executive Chef position for the resort. In 2016, Sakalis made his way to Canada in his most recent role as Executive Chef at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta. Dedicated to driving innovation in the kitchen, Sakalis looks forward to continue making his culinary mark at Fairmont Vancouver Airport.
